Music Literacy Instruction
Christopher Munce
"I know this may come across as outlandish, but it is likely that everything you have been taught about learning to read music has been wrong.Â
The neuroscience of reading is an underutilized body of information in education, and in music education we are further behind still.Â
In this class we will learn how we learn to read a new language, and more importantly HOW to teach it methodically and efficiently." - Christopher MunceÂ
Covered During the Masterclass:
- Why teaching literacy is so hard
- Music is a language like the others. Don't mystify it.
- The Science of Reading
- Literacy in a music context
- In it for the long-haul. Setting up a literacy friendly infrastructure in your curriculum.Â
