Angela Ammerman, referred to by the Washington Post as the first “music teacher prodigy,” is the author of the Music Teacher’s Guide Series and hostess of the viral instagram page: @musicteachersguide . Dedicating much of her career to providing access to music education for underserved populations of children, Ammerman has been recognized for founding a strings program for orphaned children in Thailand.
Ammerman was named the 2019 Outstanding Advisor of the Year at the University of Tennessee at Martin, the 2016 Virginia Orchestra Director of the Year and has been honored by the Washington Post, the Virginia House of Delegates, and Fairfax County Public Schools. Dr. Ammerman is a frequent All State Conductor, speaker, and clinician. “Dr. A” can be found either teaching at George Mason University or traveling all over the country with her toddler violinist: David Michael.
Ammerman most recently conducted All State Orchestras in California, Georgia, and Tennessee, and is gearing up to conduct the West Virginia Middle School Orchestra this school year. Ammerman is in awe of the dedication and brilliance of the music educators and conductors across the country and is honored to share with them.
